perpendicular

Perpendiculars:

perpendicular means right angle i.e. 90⁰. If you consider the normal houses, the angle between the walls and the ground is 90⁰. That means these are perpendicular planes. Perpendicular to a  line means any line which makes an angle of 90⁰ with it.
We can draw perpendicular line to a given line in different ways. They are as follows

  1) Perpendicular from a given point:

This is the construction of a perpendicular to a line a from a given point which is non collinear.

 2) Perpendicular at a given point:

This is the construction of a perpendicular at a given point on the line.

 3) Perpendicular at the end point:

This is the construction of a perpendicular at the end point of the line.

 4) Perpendicular bisector:

Perpendicular bisector is the line drawn to the given line which is not only at right angle to the given line but also it bisects the given line. That means perpendicular bisector divides the line into two equal parts and forms an angle of 90⁰ at the point of intersection or midpoint with the given line.
